Red Bluff Tourist Park, Kalbarri
Every morning when we start up the campervan, we hold our breaths because the engine never starts on the first go. It almost always starts in three goes, but a few times has required four attempts. But this morning we got to five and the engine still didn’t start… at seven tries, we knew we were in trouble....
Because we are so slack, by the time we got to this point, it was after 10am and most of our neighbours had long gone. However, there was a man I could see a few hundred meters away with a 4WD so I figured that he should be able to help jump start us. It turned out he had a gadget for this very situation (a battery charger) so he came up, plugged it on to the battery, and with one turn of the key we were going!
We now are the proud owner of a similar gadget that we purchased as soon as we got to Kalbarri :-)
We considered buying a new battery but they were going to have to bring one up from Geraldton. Since we only have a few days left, we decided we can get by until we get to Perth as it will be easier to sort out from there.
Anyway, once going, we had a good trip. There were so many beautiful flowers, I kept having to say to Mark "stop the van so I can get a photo!". I had a drive as well, just so I can be confident in driving if need be. It’s easy to drive, although I need more practice in towns.

We arrived about 3 pm, and are staying at the fanciest and most expensive caravan park on our whole trip. It costs $90 per night - we have our own personal en suite! It was quite a luxury to leave my towel and soap in there. The park is located near the place called Red Bluff Beach/ Lookout, a few kms out of Kalbarri, which is quite stunning. I liked it so much I booked an extra night so we will stay here tomorrow night as well.
