Lazy Day - Without Power

 Cape Keraudren

Bikes - dusty on back of the van

When we woke up today the wind was wild! Our campervan was rocking. You could hear the sand whipping against the tin. So it seemed another lazy day was the best option...

Where I swam yesterday...  mud flats this morning

I read the Bookclub book - very interesting, more on that later. Also did some mosaic. But the process I am using is frustrating me - it’s very hard to stick the pieces down as the grout dries too fast. So after this piece is done I will change technique.

Mark played with tech again. What I mean by this is that the van is swamped with cords, ac/dc connections, inverters, plug ins, links, chargers, boosters, fuses, and other things I dont know the name of. Mark is constantly moving and changing these different elements, in some sort of quest - the purpose of which I don’t fully understand, possibly to do with charging phones, computers, watches, tvs.  But cords are frequently lost, connections unplugged, fuses mislaid... I try to do my bit by finding things (one of my special powers), giving words of encouragement, and staying out of the way. I also caught the starlink when it fell down from the sky light today (new system now needed).

Anyway yesterday when we pulled up, the next door neighbour looked at our bikes on the back of the van covered in red dust and said to me: "those haven’t been off yet have they?". I confessed that indeed they had not.

So when the wind dropped this afternoon, I extricated the bikes from Dad's invented carrier, and Mark and I had a little ride around the dusty roads. I feel like the metamorphosis into my mum and dad is now complete!

Mark showing style on the sandy tracks

Now, here we are, again watching the sunset. I really wanted to swim tonight but I googled whether there are crocodiles on this cape. Alas, the answer was not what I was hoping for.

Mark singing ‘Grace’ (beautiful Irish song)- reminds me of fab night in Irish pub with Lynne, John and Carol

Tonight’s sunset

Oh and some news from home. The roof is leaking into my study and has possibly short-circuited the heater, which is not working properly. Makes our little home here seem even more of  a sanctuary.
