From Domestic Goddess To Surfie Chick

 Cable Beach Caravan Park, Broome

Surfie Chick

Today I did two huge loads of washing. Some of the clothes still seemed to be orange (the colour of the dust) but they definitely smelt better. I did enjoy hanging the lavender-scented fresh clothes on the line, although I had to endure rude comments about how to use pegs from Mark.

Having conquered the washing, I left Mark chilling in the van and rode down to Cable beach - which is brilliant. It had life guards spotting for sharks and crocs, so safe for swimming. Even better I was delighted to see I could hire a boogie board and an umbrella and chair.

My little spot on the beach

So within twenty minutes I went from being domestic goddess to surfie chick. I was out there with the surfers on my hired board having the best time ever. .. the waves were perfect, giving long rides in, occasionally quite large and just a bit scarey. I was happy when a person even older than me came out with his hired boogie board, creating a nice little challenge each time to see if I could go further than him.

Anyway on returning the board,  I realised I did not hire everything sequentially, but at the same time …aah! You see, this is what happens when you become a domestic surfie chick - brain goes to mush. So I only had the chair and umbrella for 30 minutes.

Anyway I thoroughly enjoyed my play at the beach. Saw the camels on way home, this time going the other direction.

I then had a lovely hot shower and Mark and I went for an early meal at Papa Fuego’s - a restaurant in the town centre. We missed the sunset at the beach but you can see from the picture below it probably would have been even better than last night!

Camels heading to work

Look at that sky!
